On Saturday the 11th May a group of Camerata members and ADANA volunteers met at Bella Ciao restaurant on the sea front in Estepona, with a number of fellow dog lovers. Together we gathered approximately 25 dogs of all shapes and sizes and ages. We even had five four-month-old puppies which ADANA are caring for at their rescue centre. The €10 entry fee qualified the dogs for a fun ADANA BANDANA (these were donated by one of our dog-loving sponsors) and the proceeds went to the shelter.
The walk was great fun and generated much interest and amusement. We headed along the sea front towards the port and while the puppies had to be carried part of the way there were may eager volunteers and the puppies snuggled up to our necks in gratitude. We raised much awareness among the passers by with our very excited and curious four legged friends.
The Estepona press were there, and we managed to collect donations all along the way as well as spreading the word about ADANA’s need for funds and their tireless work in taking care of homeless dogs and finding them happy homes to go to.
Some of our members also managed to sell some tickets for our Summer Charity Gala prize draw, the proceeds from which will be distributed after the event among the four very worthy charities we are supporting this year. We have some amazing prizes from our very generous prize donors and every last cent raised from the prize draw will be shared between Collective Calling, Duquesa Charitable Society of St George, Age Concern Estepona and ADANA.
